Haunts · posts ready to copy (waitlist)

Disclosure: Haunts is made by the maintainer of this repo (OneClickTool). Everything below is from the product page, checked 2026-10-12. It's not on the App Store yet (in testing): say "building" / "coming to iPhone", never "download now". Link = the page with the launch email form.

Facts from the page: iPhone only · logs places you stop (≈5 min) into a timeline, no check-ins, no typing · names from Apple Maps, travel mode between stops · tags (food, coffee, workout, fun, outdoors) · up to 4 photos, an emoji and a one-line note per place · weekly 9:16 recap card (places, #1 spot, workouts, first-time spots) for Stories · 7-day emoji map · imports a Google Maps Timeline export · data on the iPhone, no account, no servers, no analytics, no feed · uses visits iOS already detects, not continuous GPS · export JSON / GPX, pause, delete all · Free to start; Pro $3.99/month or $24.99/year with a 7-day trial (monthly and yearly Wrapped, full history).

Slot: Story (in development). This month it shares the Saturday slot with Redliner, or replaces one talk post.

A · Pain / the hook (best first post)

Attach: the weekly recap card (9:16) next to the timeline screenshot. Test data only, no real home address.

I can't remember where I ate last Tuesday. My phone can.

Building Haunts: an iPhone app that turns the places you stop into a timeline, no check-ins, no typing. Every week you get a little "wrapped" card of your week.

Everything stays on the phone. No account, no servers.

B · Privacy (trust; good for replies from privacy people)

A location app I'd actually install has to answer one question: where does my data go?

Haunts, the one I'm building: nowhere. No account, no servers, no analytics, no friends feed. It uses the visits iOS already detects, not GPS running all day.

Export as JSON or GPX, or delete everything.

C · Google Timeline (question, reply magnet)

Google Maps Timeline users: did you export your history before it moved?

Building an iPhone app that can import that export (the new phone export or old Takeout) and keep going from there. Curious how many people still have that file.

Before posting C: only keep "before it moved" if you've checked Google's current Timeline change for your audience; otherwise start at "Google Maps Timeline users: do you still have your export?".

D · Behind the scenes

Small rule in the app I'm building: if it names a place wrong ("Starbucks" for the gym next door), you fix it once and it remembers.

Auto-logging is only useful if fixing it takes one tap.

E · Poll

What would you want in a weekly recap of the places you went?
· #1 spot of the week
· new places I tried
· workouts
· a map with emoji pins
  • "What's the one café / place you went to most this year? Mine: ."
  • "Spotify Wrapped for music exists. What would you want a 'Wrapped' for?"

Before you post

  • Screenshots from a test phone or a demo route; no home, work or real names.
  • Say "coming to iPhone" / "building", not "out now".
  • Pro prices only if you're asked; they're on the page and may change before launch.
