Weekly Pinterest flow for an indie dev¶
Total: ~1 hour a week in one sitting + 10 minutes on Sunday + 45 minutes once a month. The why: docs/01-strategy.md.
Pinterest rewards steady, fresh pins more than daily attention, so it runs on a weekly batch, not a daily routine.
Once a week (≈60 min, one sitting)¶
| Minutes | Do | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | Pick 2–3 pages to pin this week (new pages first, then last month's winners) and their terms from the keyword sheet | Pages + terms |
| 35 | Make 5–10 pins: different variants per page, 2:3, from your master files (/social-pinterest pin <URL>) |
Images + pin files |
| 15 | Schedule them across the week, each to its best board, each link with UTM | 5–10 pins queued |
Sunday (≈10 min)¶
Fill weekly numbers from Pinterest Analytics and your site analytics; apply the stop rules only at the monthly review.
Once a month (≈45 min)¶
- Sort last month's pins by outbound clicks. Top 3 pages → make 2 new pins each next month.
- Check Pinterest Trends for your terms: anything rising or seasonal in the next 1–3 months gets a page and pins now.
- Rename or merge boards that get no impressions; add one board for a new term.
- Check every destination link loads without redirects and still has the UTM.
