Subreddits¶
One page per subreddit: self-promotion rules, post format, voice, images and what readers want. Skills that write
Reddit posts read these pages instead of fetching rules every time. Pages carry checked: and verified:
(reddit = read on the subreddit's own rules page, secondary = from a rules aggregator). Re-check a page older
than 60 days, and update it when a post is removed for a rule it missed.
How to use: launch-reddit-posting. Template for a new page: subreddit-profile.md.
Mac apps, easiest to hardest¶
Difficulty = how hard it is to post about your own app without removal. Readers: buyers (Mac users) or builders (feedback and karma, few sales).

Where Mac users come from¶
- Buyers are in r/MacOSApps, r/macapps, r/apple, r/MacOS and the Mac help subreddits. r/SideProject, r/SwiftUI and r/indiehackers are easy to post in, but their readers build products.
- Weeks 1–2: comment only in r/macapps, r/MacOS, r/applehelp, r/macbookpro. Answer the exact question; aim for 10 r/macapps karma.
- Then one subreddit per day, a different post each: r/MacOSApps → r/SideProject → r/SwiftUI → r/macapps (your best post, once per 30 days) → r/apple on a Sunday → r/MacOS after modmail. r/AppHookup only during a real sale; r/indiehackers once you have real numbers.
- The best comments answer "is there an app that…" threads: say you made it, only when it answers the question.
- Put a tracking parameter per subreddit in every link and drop subreddits that bring upvotes but no installs.
