A day on X: promote 3–5 products, spend the rest earning trust

The hour-by-hour version of daily-flow.md, for one common setup: you sell 3–5 products and want everything else you do on X to bring impressions, followers and trust, so that when a product post does go out, people already know you.

Filled-in version for real products (posts, hooks, links, demo shot lists): posts/product-rotation.md · non-promo posts ready to copy: posts/talk-bank.md · a full week mixing both: posts/week-02-mix.md.

Labels: Code = X's open-source ranker, Help = X help page, Practice = common practice, test it (reference/tips-and-tricks.md).

The mix (the one rule this page is built on)

Per week Promo Trust / reach ("talk")
Original posts ~14 (2 a day) 4–5 (one per product) 9–10 (tips, takes, questions, build log)
Replies ~50–70 ≤ 1 in 10 has a link the rest: a fact, number, screenshot or question
Direct ask 1 (Sunday) "link in reply" —
  • One product per day at most, and each of your 3–5 products once a week. That's the whole promo budget.
  • A product post still has to give something (a demo that shows a fix, a lesson, a number). Only Sunday asks.
  • The talk posts are not filler: they decide who follows you. Talk about the problems your buyers have, not about growth or X itself. If you sell Mac utilities, your talk is Mac tips, AI coding, small-app building.
  • Why it works: Code · the ranker scores each post by predicted replies, shares and dwell, and mutes / "not interested" cost far more than a like earns (docs/03-how-x-ranks-posts.md). An account that sells every day trains people to scroll past or mute.

Pick your 3–5 (once, 15 min)

Slot Pick the product that… Post angle that week
Hero has a paid plan or trial and a 10-second "aha" Demo (Mon) + Sunday offer
Reach is free and solves a loud problem in your niche Demo or lesson; drives follows
Story you're still building (waitlist) Behind the scenes, poll on a feature
4th–5th rotate weekly, or skip Lesson / tip that leads to it

Write each one's row in templates/product-rotation.md: one-line problem, the offer as the store says it, the demo clip, 3 hooks, the UTM link.

The day, hour by hour

Times are your audience's morning, lunch and evening (Practice · test, there's no universal best hour).

07:30 · Warm up (5 min)

First: write down profile visits, last 7 days from X analytics (the one number).

Do Tool
Open notifications: answer every reply from last night first X notifications
Open your private reply-targets list, note 3–5 posts under 2 h old X Lists · or X Pro columns (Premium+)
Check today's two posts are scheduled X composer → Unsent posts → Scheduled

08:00 · Post 1 of the day (2 min)

  • Mon–Sat: the product slot of the day or the strongest talk post. Sunday: weekly numbers + one offer.
  • Product post: link in the first reply or in the post; X said in July 2026 it no longer penalizes links (tips). Practice · test both for a month. Code · a link click weighs 0.2, far less than a reply or share, so the post must earn reach without it.
  • Stay 15 minutes after posting if you can, so you answer early replies fast (Practice).

08:05 · Reply session 1 (20 min) — the biggest lever

  • 5–7 replies under fresh posts from target accounts (docs/06-reply-playbook.md).
  • Help · Premium ranks subscribers' replies higher; Premium+ the highest (About X Premium).
  • Every reply adds one thing: a number, a counter-example, a screenshot, a 2-step how-to, or an honest question.
  • Product link only when the post literally asks for a tool like yours, or a "what are you building?" post that passes the 6 checks. Say "I built this". Max once a day.
  • No hashtags unless a real community uses one (why).
  • Agent help to draft (you post by hand): social-x-reply.

12:30 · Lunch check (10 min)

Do Why
Answer every reply on post 1 Code · replies between mutual follows weigh extra; conversation keeps the post alive
3 more replies, this time to peers (accounts your size) Peers reply back; mutual follows grow (templates/reply-targets.md)
Like + reply to anyone who quoted or mentioned you Trust: people see you answer
1 quote post with your own take if something in your niche is moving Reach on a topic people already read today. No auto-posting on trends (X automation rules)

17:30 · Post 2 of the day (2 min)

  • Always a talk post from posts/talk-bank.md: tip, opinion, question, build log.
  • At least 4 hours after post 1 (Code · several posts from one author close together get decayed in a feed).

17:35 · Reply session 2 (15 min)

  • 5 replies, now to buyer sources: reviewers, newsletters, communities where your buyers are.
  • Join 1–2 X Communities in your niche; post there only what fits their rules.

21:30 · Close the day (5 min)

  • Answer the last replies on both posts. Don't leave a question hanging overnight.
  • Follow 3–5 people you replied to today and would reply to again. No bursts, no follow/unfollow (docs/08-rules-and-risks.md).
  • One line in the fact bank: what you shipped, learned or measured today.
  • Glance at the day's post in X analytics: impressions, profile visits, link clicks. Weekly totals go in templates/weekly-numbers.md.

Short on time? Same mix, smaller

Budget Posts Replies Skip
25 min 1 (product day or talk) 5–7 in one session Lunch, quote posts
60 min (the day above) 2 13–15 —
2 h 2–3 20–25 Never more posts; spend the extra time on replies and on recording next week's demo

Ramp up, don't jump

Real case. Going from ~1 to 6 posts + 9 replies a day in 3 days got the maintainer's account a temporary reach label (removed ~2 h later). Details: analytics-pattern.md.

Week Posts / day Replies / day Follows / day
1 1 5 ≤ 3
2 1–2 8–10 ≤ 5
3+ 2 13–15 ≤ 5

Never change photo, name or @handle in a ramp-up week (Help · the checkmark goes away until re-review).

What builds each thing you want

You want What moves it Labels
Impressions Replies under bigger posts within 2 h; one strong post a day; posts people share (checklists, tools, numbers) Code + Help
Followers A clear niche in the bio; demos and tips in that niche; following back peers you talk to Practice
Trust Real dated numbers (also the bad ones); answering every reply; tips with no link; saying "I built this"; the same voice every day Practice + FTC
Profile visits → clicks Bio that says who it's for + offer; pinned demo; one link in bio with UTM Practice, social-x-profile-funnel
Sales The Sunday ask + the pinned post + a landing that matches the offer docs/01-strategy-first-dollar.md

What kills all of them: buying followers or engagement, auto-replies/likes/follows/DMs, the same text twice, fights (Code · blocks and reports are the heaviest negative signals).
